In 2005 following the Ripley Village Plan Meeting, a committee was formed to begin work on setting up a Farmer's Market. An overwhelming number of people said that they would love to have a local market taking place in the centre of the village, providing another source of fresh and local produce as well as a wonderful monthly community meeting place.

Sally Erhardt's dream of setting up a local produce market reached fruition in June 2005 and on a hot summer's day the market was launched!

Over the years, all of our proceeds, less modest costs, have been ploughed back into our community and the Farmer's Market have supported many important Village causes from mending the Church clock to supporting the expansion of the village school and donating to the rebuilding fund for the village hall to name but a few.

Today, the market is still run by a strong team of volunteers some of the original crew and a number of hard-working new recruits.  The committee is currently made up from the following individuals: -

  • Sally Erhardt          Chairperson
  • Desmond McCann    Treasurer
  • Chris Lee               Marketing
  • Lisanne Mealing       Website & Paris Council representative
  • Nicola Haig-Brown   Committee Member
  • Julie Gray               Marketing & Committee Member
  • Helen Harris            Marketing & Graphics
