About

About us

Ripley Farmers’ Market started on our beautiful Village Green in 2005 and since then has sold local seasonal food all year round. It is run entirely by a team of volunteers - some of the original crew and a number of hard-working newer recruits.

Over the years all of our profits, (£100,000) less our modest costs, have been ploughed back into our community and the Farmers' Market has supported many important village causes including the Toddler group, the Youth Club, the local Primary School, the over 60s club, the Village Hall and many others.

We still have some of our original stallholders who've supported us all these years plus many new and different local food and drink businesses who often become regulars.

We have some wonderful regular visitors who support the market month in, month out throughout the year and we are always working to publicise and encourage new customers.

Each June market we run a special market, which hosts over 70 local producers and attracts over 3,000 visitors. The day includes local wine, beer and spirit producers, our regular stall holders and live music, making it a wonderful day out.

In 2011 we won the FARMA best Farmers’ Market in the UK award
In 2015 we won Surrey Life’s Food & Drink best Farmers’ Market award
In 2017 our founder Sally Erhardt received the Surrey Life 'Pride of Surrey' award
In 2019 we were very proud to be nominated as a finalist in the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service
In 2022, our found Sally, was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to food and community
